Burke Art 2 students created portraits for a nonprofit organization called The Memory Project. Their mission is to connect youth around the world through art to help build cultural understanding and international kindness. The Memory Project gets its name from its first intention, which is to provide handmade, heartfelt portraits as special memories to children in orphanages. They are using art to reach a distant destination: a kinder world in which all youth see themselves in one another regardless of differences in their appearance, culture, religion, or circumstances.
The portraits made here in Burke will be sent to children in India.

💙 Today, Burke students proudly wore blue to show support and raise awareness for those living with diabetes. This is a day to honor the strength and resilience of all those affected by this condition, including members of our community who face the daily challenges diabetes brings.
