A great day of Cougar Youth Football in Presho! 🏈 Our 3rd/4th-grade and 5th/6th-grade teams played hard and represented Burke with plenty of heart, hustle, and Cougar pride! 💙🤍🐾

🐾 ONE LAST HOMECOMING TRADITION! 🐾🔥 Mother Nature had other plans for us last night 🌧️, so we weren’t able to burn the “B” after Coronation as planned. But we couldn’t officially wrap up Cougar Palooza Homecoming Week without it! 🎶💙 Tonight, following the football game, we finally gathered together and burned the “B!” 🔥 What a great way to put the finishing touch on an unforgettable Homecoming Week! 💙🤍 Thank you to everyone who helped make this week so much fun for our students and community! 🎉 2026 Homecoming Parade Marshal – Deb Indahl 🎉 Burke School is proud to recognize Deb Indahl as our 2026 Homecoming Parade Marshal! 💙🤍 Deb recently retired after an incredible 38 years of dedicated service to Burke School District as our Business Manager. For nearly four decades, Deb was an important part of the day-to-day operations of our school, working behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly and always being willing to lend a helping hand. Throughout her 38 years, Deb witnessed generations of students pass through the halls of Burke School and worked alongside countless staff members, administrators, and community members. Her dedication, knowledge, and commitment to our district have left a lasting impact on Burke School. As we celebrate Homecoming and the traditions that make it so special, we can’t think of a more deserving person to lead our parade. Please help us congratulate and thank Deb Indahl for 38 amazing years of service and for being selected as our 2026 Homecoming Parade Marshal! 🎶🐾💙 Congratulations, Deb, and thank you for everything you have done for Burke School!

Another favorite Homecoming tradition—Cookies with Cougars! 🍪💙🤍 Our senior athletes signed autographs and spent time with our elementary students while everyone enjoyed a sweet treat. It’s always special to see our youngest Cougars connecting with the seniors they look up to! 🐾

🏈 Friday’s pep rally was a total touchdown! Our Cougar football team put their music knowledge to the test with “Sing That Lyric,” and Ryggan grabbed the mic and took home the win! 🎤🏆 Now it’s time to tackle the competition and finish Homecoming Week strong. Let’s go, Cougars! 💙🤍🐾

👑🏐 Congratulations to our Homecoming Queen, Emmy! 👑🏐

Emmy has been absolutely killing it on the volleyball court—literally! Last week at Corsica, she recorded an incredible quadruple-double, finishing with more than 10 kills, 10 assists, 10 digs, and 10 receptions! 🔥

To top it all off, Emmy also recorded her 1,000th career assist for the Cougars! 🎉👏

We are so proud of you, Emmy! Keep shining on and off the court! 💙🐾

Sometimes during a crazy, loud week, like homecoming week can be, we just need to take a break. And that's exactly what the MS music class kids did. Relaxing music, lights off and just taking a break. Quiet time gives older students practice being comfortable without constant entertainment. Let's encourage our kids to take a break when life gets crazy.

A BIG Cougar thank-you to Mary Beth Holzwarth from the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation for spending time with our students the last two days! 💙🐾 Mary Beth shared powerful information about internet safety and helping our students understand how to recognize warning signs, make safe choices, and protect themselves and others. We are incredibly grateful for her time, knowledge, and dedication to keeping South Dakota’s young people safe.
