What a great evening welcoming the Ride Across South Dakota participants to Burke School! The Bring Change to Mind student organization was honored to host the evening meal for the riders as they made their way across South Dakota. It was exciting to be one of the stops along their journey and to welcome so many cyclists from communities near and far. A huge thank you to the riders for stopping in Burke and for their generosity and support of our students. We are especially proud of our BC2M members who volunteered their time to help serve the meal, greet guests, and represent our school with pride. Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening a success. Safe travels to all the riders as they continue their journey!

It’s been such a great year with this group of 6th graders! Watching them grow not only in their math skills, but also as individuals, has been so rewarding. This year was full of learning, laughter, and growth. To celebrate all their hard work, we wrapped it up with a bowling trip! 🎳 A huge thank you to Gregory Lanes for having us and helping make it a fun day for our students!

The 6th graders put their math skills to the test by creating and playing their own math games covering concepts they learned this year! 🎲➕ A fun way to review, collaborate, and celebrate all their hard work!

Tonight we celebrated an incredible year of leadership, service, and growth at our FCCLA Officer Installation Banquet! ❤️💙 A very special thank you to Mrs. Opbroek for her years of leadership, guidance, and dedication to FCCLA. For the past few years, she has kept saying, “This is my last year!” …and somehow FCCLA kept pulling her back in. After years of giving her time, energy, and heart to this program, she is officially passing the torch. We are so thankful for the countless hours, encouragement, and care she has poured into FCCLA and the students involved. Her impact on this program and its members will be felt for years to come! We would also like to welcome and thank Mrs. Williams for taking on this amazing program. You have big shoes to fill, but we are excited to see where your leadership and vision will take FCCLA in the years ahead! Congratulations to all of our officers, members, and advisors on a wonderful evening and a successful year! 🎉

✨😄 Xtra Day! 😄✨ Today was all about being EXTRA! Students showed off their bright colors and fun outfits, and to celebrate, kids enjoyed some Xtra Sour Gum for an extra sweet (and sour!) surprise. 🍬 The countdown to summer keeps getting closer! ☀️

"Leading with heart Burke Cougars May Students of the Month."

Ronald McDonald Pop Tab Pandemonium results are in! While we didn’t quite take home the win, we were proud to be part of history. A total of 3,945 pounds of pop tabs were collected, and Burke School contributed an amazing 171.5 pounds! Great job, Cougars! Thank you to everyone who saved and donated throughout the year. Keep collecting — we’re already looking forward to next year!

4th grade got to spend their hard earned money today! We stopped for coffee in Bonesteel and learned all about how they prepare coffee! Played at the park and then they swam their little hearts out! It was such a great day getting to see them enjoy something they worked so hard for! I am so proud of how well they have done with their coffee shop!

Another successful FFA Banquet! 💙💛 It is always such a wonderful evening hearing about all of the successes, accomplishments, and hard work of this awesome chapter. Our students continue to do amazing things, and we are so proud of each and every one of them! A huge thank you to our wonderful FFA advisor, Mollie Andrews, for all of the time, dedication, and support you pour into these students and our program. Your leadership makes all of this possible!

The Spanish 2 class went on a field trip to El Tapatio today and had some delicious food, lots of laughs, and even some Spanish practice. Always a good time. ❤️

A big thank you to Officer Green for taking the time to teach CPR to our 5th graders yesterday! The students enjoyed the opportunity to learn from you again and gained valuable hands-on experience with an important life skill. We appreciate your continued support and willingness to share your knowledge with our students!
