The Lady Cougars spent the last two days at Valentine playing basketball! We threw new defenses, offenses, presses and everything in between at them and they did it all with no questions! They did a Situational Tournament where they are put into a bracket and compete in end of game situations to learn scenarios, composure, and endurance and our girls ended in 2nd! To the girls, Thank you for working so hard and putting your hearts into everything we asked of you! We are so beyond blessed to get to spend this season growing, learning, and loving basketball with you! -Coach K and Coach T

Parents, please remember to schedule Well-Checks (previously called sports physicals) with your provider prior to fall practices kicking off.

Rio weather did not cooperate today, but we did manage to still have some fun and see Christ the Redeemer, play some soccer on the beach (their team won), and we learned how to Samba dance. So. Much. Fun. But we are ready to come home! Next stop: the US!

Today we toured the island of Ihla Grande (the big island). We learned about the biomes of Brazil, biodiversity, preservations of rainforests and the history of the island (very interesting). We hiked for two hours through the Atlantic rainforest and arrived at a beautiful uninhabited beach. We even saw a monkey in the trees AND the sun decided to come out for a bit. Tomorrow: Rio de Janeiro, our last leg of the trip.

The past few days we visited an olive farm, toured the town of Paraty, and trekked through a rainforest and ended up on the beach. Fun is an understatement. 🤩

35 hours per week
Starting wage of $18.13/hour
9-month position

What a great evening welcoming the Ride Across South Dakota participants to Burke School! The Bring Change to Mind student organization was honored to host the evening meal for the riders as they made their way across South Dakota. It was exciting to be one of the stops along their journey and to welcome so many cyclists from communities near and far. A huge thank you to the riders for stopping in Burke and for their generosity and support of our students. We are especially proud of our BC2M members who volunteered their time to help serve the meal, greet guests, and represent our school with pride. Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening a success. Safe travels to all the riders as they continue their journey!

It’s been such a great year with this group of 6th graders! Watching them grow not only in their math skills, but also as individuals, has been so rewarding. This year was full of learning, laughter, and growth. To celebrate all their hard work, we wrapped it up with a bowling trip! 🎳 A huge thank you to Gregory Lanes for having us and helping make it a fun day for our students!
