🌵🏜️Our Kid Wind students have all safely returned to Burke. It doesn't seem like they brought back any sunny Phoenix weather. While not competing, they found time to try new food, conquer an escape room, ride camels, visit a zoo, and ride in a driverless car (video below). Congrats Jadyn, Wyatt, and Savanna! 🚖🐫

Our final “Hey There” of the school year 😢
Thank you, Officer Green, for greeting the students on their last day.
Have a great summer and stay safe, Cougars!

3rd grade field trip today! Thank you Divine Concrete, Cindy Lillibridge, and Fort Randall for the awesome experience!

Today, we celebrated a big milestone for our littlest learners — Congratulations, Kindergarten! We can't wait to see what the future holds for this special group as they head into first grade!!

Today's golf results!
Girls got second at regions and all qualified individually, Olivia 4th, Paige 5th and Brianna 14th!
Brody qualified for the boys-6th.
Congratulations Cougars!

Alese Van Metre is our top AR points getter in the elementary school with 140.5 points.
Alese also read over 1 million words this school year.
Congrats Alese and keep on reading!

🎉🎂 Celebrating the amazing Mr. Moore and Mrs. Sachtjen on their well-deserved retirement today! 🥳✨

Here is our May Newsletter!

💨Day 1 of Kid Wind in Phoenix is in the books. Mr. Murray, Wyatt, Savanna, and Jadyn are busy competing. Good luck students, bring home some hardware!🥇

Congratulations to our May student of the month winners!

Today, our 4th graders surprised Mrs. Sachtjen with a meaningful gift—two cherished books from her very last 4th grade class.
It was a touching reminder of the lasting connections she’s made and the difference she continues to make in the lives of her students.

📚🎉 Hey kids — get ready for an awesome adventure at the Library! 🎉📚
Do you love stories, crafts, and making new friends? Then Summer Reading Program is the place to be this summer! We’ll go on reading adventures, do fun hands-on activities, and even learn some cool new things — all while having a blast at the library! 😄✨

Want to see a lot of smiles? Just give a teacher a cookie! 🍪
As part of his volunteer hours, Oybeck spread joy today by sharing cookies with our entire staff. Thank you for the sweet surprise!

Change of plans due to the weather, but that didn’t stop the fun! Our young engineers spent the day "soaring into summer" by experimenting with aerodynamics. They designed and tested various paper airplane models, adjusting variables like wing shape and adding mass to observe how these factors influenced flight distance. Perfect way to launch into summer break!

A big thank you to Officer Green for continuing to educate and inspire our students! Yesterday, he took even more of his time to walk the 5th graders through how to use an AED and shared more about his important role as a police officer. 🚓❤️⚡
We’re so grateful for your time, dedication, and the positive example you set. Thank you, Officer Green!

👏 Thank you to Evan Papousek for being our guest speaker at tonight’s FFA Banquet! We have so much to be proud of here in Gregory County. Congratulations to Gregory County FFA on an outstanding and successful year! 👏
